Facts and Fiction about Australian Gun Control

     Your item about Australia's experience since our public gun buyback must have been written by the that scurrilous and dangerous bunch, the NRA. Firearm murders are NOT up, firearmed robberies are NOT up and in fact the apparently favoured way of intimidating victims in a robbery is by producing a blood filled syringe.

     Neither I nor any of my mates Know anybody who owns or carries a gun of any sort - even the humble 0.22 rifle seems to have disappeared from contemporary Australian society - previously used for rabbit hunting, it has now been consigned to the unwanted and unnecessary category. Our recent Olympic experience showed that a display of fire power by the authorities was also totally unnecessary.

     Get a life - and get rid of guns (and the NRA).
