Site of William Tinker House
William Tinker Site This address is an example of architectural adapation that gives Fells Point much of its character and variety. Originally built in the 1700s as a dormered, two and a half story house, a third story and other enlargements have been aded, including a late 19th century Italinate facade, that have totally changed its colonial appearance. The house was originally owned by William Tinker, a compassionate grocer, who, when he heard of the plight of some French exiles fleeing a revolt in Haiti, rowed out to the ships in the harbor and distributed provisions to the refugees (1793).
