Former Obrycki Bakery & Residence - 1620 Shakespeare Street
In the early 1900s Alexander Obrycki and his brother operated a bakery on this site (now a clothing shop). Obrycki's bakery served as the unofficial center for newly arriving Polish immigrants. In addition to settling newcomers, the Obryckis enterained visiting Polish celebrities in this house, including Nobel laureate Madame Marie Sklodowska Curie, the co-discoverer of radium.
