Situated on the old "City Dock," the Institute teaches at-risk teenagers
vocational and life skills as well as traditional academics through hands
on experiences in boat building, boat repair, and carpentry. The
Weinberg Education Center and a 75-foot observation tower (begun in fall
'95), complements the boat shed and marina facilities of this innovative,
alternative education enterprise.
