Federal Era Wooden Houses -
612-614 Wolfe Street
With their shed dormers and simple doors and windows, these two,
one-and-a-half story wooden residences, built around 1775, are rare
survivors of the kind of houses common on the Point in the early 1800s.
Later fire laws forced developers to build with brick. Taller wooden
dwellings still stand at 707 Regester Street and at 533, 717, and 719 South Ann Street.
