Track Updates for December 19, 1999


John LaCosta    W ednesday (11/10)

     Ben Bates was Dispatcher with Dick Hutzler, Harry Gesser, Charlie Plantholt and John Diefenbach as crew for a charter.

     Saturday (12/4)

     Justin Thillman, Dan Lawrence, Rick Williams and Mark Hurley put the finishing touches on the Visitors Center in preparation for the tinsel trolley.

     Ed Amrhein, Greg Thompson and I painted the strips on the new handicap parking spaces and mounted the signs. I also repainted the stopping and clearance marks in the North Avenue loop area.

     The main task was to install the outside "tree" over the Visitor's Center and repair the outside Christmas lights around the Visitor's center.

     Rick Obbink completed repairing the American lathe at the 22nd street shops.

     Sunday (12/5)

     John O'Neil was Dispatcher with Jim Robertson, Paul Ritterhoff, Bob Krueger, Chris Howell and Carl Thistel as crew.

     Saturday (12/11)

     In the morning Ed and I continued to work on 264. We installed molding under the clearstory windows.

tinsel trolley This was the first weekend for the tinsel trolley and the weather was very good.

     Dave Crow was Dispatcher with Chris Howell, Dan Lawrence, Ben Bates, Denis Falter, Jim Robertson, Justin Thillman, Carl Merson and Andy Blumberg as crew. Lynn Yeager and Pat Eckart were the cashiers with Rick Williams, Jonathan Borreson and Greg Thompson keeping things running smoothly inside. Ray Cannon and Henry Wells manned the gift shop.

     Sunday (12/12)

     Dan Lawrence was Dispatcher with Carl Thistle, Paul Ritterhoff, Buster Hughes and Chris Howell as crew. Michel Lawrence and Mary Anne Amrhein were cashiers with Rick Williams, David Baynes, Mary Baynes and Mark Hurley (organist) inside the Visitor's Center helping the visitors. Ray Cannon and Henry Wells manned the gift shop.

     Wednesday (12/15)

     Ben Bates was Dispatcher with M. Bates, Harry Gesser and Charlie Plantholt as crew for a charter.

     Saturday (12/18)

Installing Roof Molding Ed Amrhein and I continued to work on 264. We installed the remaining molding on the car and installed all but one of the roof steps.

     Ben Bates was Dispatcher for the second Saturday of the tinsel trolley opening with Bob Bond, Carl Merson, Justin Thillman, Dan Lawrence, David Baynes, Greg Thompson, Ben Bates (the elder), Chris Howell and Jerry Kelly as crew. Michel Lawrence and Marjory Bates were the cashiers with Rick Williams, Bob Doster and Mark Hurley in the Visitor's Center to help the large number of visitors that we had. Ray Cannon and Henry Wells manned the gift shop.

     Sunday (12/19)

     I was Dispatcher with Justin Thillman, Tom Phillips, Mark Dawson, Chris Howell, David Nvjokas, Carl Thistle, Andy Blumberg, Carl Merson and Dan Lawrence as crew. Cath La Costa and Sandy Thillman were the cashiers with Rick Williams, Bob Doster and Mark Hurley helping in the Visitor's Center.

Kenwood Band Not only were the visitors able to meet Santa, they were treated to music by member of the Kenwood Senior High School band under the direction of Pamela McCracken, and both John Terwilliger and Mark Hurley playing the organ. Ray Cannon and Henry Wells manned the gift shop.
