Track Updates for December 17, 2000

John LaCosta    S orry for the long delay in getting out the update.

The broken controller in the Witt was repaired by Ed Amrhein and I. We used the part machined from Paul Ritterhoff's casting by Rick Obbin kand Gary at the shop.

The Museum was decorated for the Santa trolley, both inside and out by a number of museum members (sorry I don't have the list but I was out of town)

Bill and Rick Obbink completed the relighting of the pitarea. The lighting has improved greatly and helped the crew on 4533 in theirtask of exterior painting.

The crew on 4533 has completed the exterior painting and continues to work on the doors and interior.

The Tinsel Trolley was held on two consecutive weekends, and with the exception of one day when it rained, had great attendance. Had therain not kept the attendance down, it would have been the best turn out yet. In total we carried 294 adults, 215 children and an unknown number of under 4 passengers. Thanks to all who helped with this event.

I started working on the replacement handrails for 554.

Replacing Insulators     The Line crew was out at the 28Th street loop and replaced the last major section of pole mounted insulators. One more day should have all of the remaining pole mounted insulators replaced.
