BSM TrackUpdate August - September, 2003


John LaCosta    SSaturday (8/2)

     Ed Amrhein continued working on the parts for 6119's controller including painting with insulating paint and fitting the blocks on the controller with the help of Paul Ritterhoff and John La Costa.

     Sam and Bill worked on the recycling of the soda cans while John Engleman worked on the "O" gauge layout in the Visitor's Center.

     Ed and John worked on the wire drop on the 28th Street signal system.

     Chris Howell was Dispatcher with Dan Lawrence, Eric Smith, Mark Dawson and Fred Schneider as crew.

     In the evening the museum held a crab feast as organized by Chris McNally. There was great attendance and lots of good crabs.

Sunday (8/3)

     Carl Merson was Dispatcher with Dennis Falter, Mike Citro and Eric Smith as crew.

1050 base     The down side of the day was when 1050 was leaving the yard, its trolley pole dewired, hung up in the overhead and pulled the trolley base of the top of the car. The base also broke through the outer roof.

Saturday (8/9)

     Mark Hurley and John La Costa replaced the fuses at the 27th Street signal contactor.

     Work started on repairing the hole in 1050's roof with Ed Amrhein, Dan McCaffery and John La Costa installing a canvas patch over the whole and measuring for a new wood trolley base. Rick Obbink cut the new trolley base to size and got it ready for Buster Hughes to paint.

     Charlie Plantholt got his time in the sun as he cut the grass around the Visitor's Center.

Fingers     CJ did fine adjustments on 6119's controller to get all of the fingers to line up properly with the cams.

     During the afternoon I lubricated the trolley base and wheels on cars 554, 1164, 4533 & 7407.

Sunday (8/10)

     Ben Bates was Dispatcher with Kevin Mueller, Eric Smith, Dennis Falter, Fred Schneider, Charlie Plantholt and Jim Robertson as crew.

Thursday (8/14)

     Fred Schneider was Dispatcher with Charlie Plantholt, M Bates and Jim Robertson as crew for a charter.

Saturday (8/16)

     David Baynes was Dispatcher with Dan Lawrence, Fred Schneider, Dave Naujokas and Dan McCaffery as crew.

Sunday (8/17)

     John O'Neil was Dispatcher with Dennis Falter and Jim Robertson as crew.

Saturday (8/23)

     Mark Hurley was Dispatcher with Bob Cohen, Dave Naujokas, Jerry Kelly, Eric Smith, Drew Paren, Ben Bates and Dave Wilson as crew.

Sunday (8/24)

     Dave Crow was Dispatcher with Mike Citro and Sharon Higgins as crew.

Wednesday (8/27)

     Ben Bates the elder was Dispatcher with M. Bates, Mike Citro and Dennis Falter as crew for a charter.

Saturday (8/30)

     Chris Howell was Dispatcher with Joe Naujokas, Dennis Falter, Drew Paren, and Eric Smith as crew.

Sunday (8/31)

     Carl Merson was Dispatcher with Justin Thillman, Mark Dawson and Paul Ritterhoff as crew.

Saturday (9/6)

     Dave Naujokas was Dispatcher with Dennis Falter, Paul Ritterhoff and Dan McCaffery as crew.

Sunday (9/7)

     Buster Hughes and John La Costa did the finally installation of the trolley base and pole on 1050.

     Mark Dawson and John Engleman worked on roll signs.

     Bob Krueger was Dispatcher with Bernie Sachs, Mike Citro and Carl Thistel as crew.

Saturday (9/13)

     Chris Howell was Dispatcher with Dan McCaffery as crew.

Sunday (9/14)

     Ben Bates was Dispatcher with Dave Naujokas and Mark Dawson as crew.

Wednesday (9/17)

     Ben Bates the elder was Dispatcher with Charlie Plantholt, Mike Citro, M. Bates and Dennis Falter as crew for a charter.

Saturday (9/20)

     Dave crow was Dispatcher with Dan Lawrence, Greg Thompson and Dennis Falter as crew.

     During the evening the annual meeting was held at eh Visitor's Center.

Sunday (9/21)

     Dan Lawrence was Dispatcher with Jerry Kelly and Paul Ritterhoff as crew.

Saturday (9/27)

     Mark Hurley was Dispatcher with Dennis Falter, Joe Naujokas and Dan McCaffery as crew.
