Getting Started with HTML

by: Marty Beall

By no means is this little tutorial going to make you a webmaster overnight, learning HTML can take weeks even months to learn. I've been working with HTML for almost a year and a half now (since November '95) and I'm still learning! This tutorial will give you a better understanding of what HTML is and how to use it.

There are a few things you will need. You will need a small word proccessing program such as MS Write or Notepad. Second you will need a web browser, but chances are you're using one right now. Third you will need an fTP client, such as WS fTP or Cute fTP (I think Windows 95 comes prepackaged with one). You will need one of these so anyone in the world will be able to view your web page. You'll also need a place to store your homepage, this could be your ISP or one of the many places that offer free web storage, such as Geocities or Tripod. The place your going to store you home page has to be world readable, you should ask your sysadmin about that.

2. Using Other HTML Tags.
3. Making Those Dreadful Tables.
